Detroit native and general wanderer Evelyn Davis is a pianist, pipe organist, improviser, composer, and songstress — a maker of inside/prepared piano work, new music, and other oddly shaped musics, with the occasional side of synthesizer and performance art. She lives in San Francisco.
Davis plays pipe organ in Lantskap Logic, the trio with Fred Frith and Phillip Greenlief whose Cleanfeed releases include Lantskap Logic (2018) and Hidden Danger Lets Me In (2023) — the latter recorded live at the Mills College Chapel as a requiem for the closing of the institution's experimental music department. She fronts the art rock duo CHIROMANCER with Charlie Werber, and has performed and recorded with Inner Ear Brigade, Frankenixon, and Cheer-Accident.
Her practice spans solo performance, ensemble improvisation, composition for unusual rooms and instruments, recording sessions, and teaching. Inquiries about bookings, commissions, and collaborations are welcome.
